Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 11, 2026

Genesis is a Discord bot. This policy explains what data Genesis collects, how it is stored, and how it can be deleted. It applies to every server that adds Genesis.

What Genesis stores

Genesis stores the minimum data required to function:

  • Guild ID - to associate settings and backups with the correct server.
  • Channel, role, and category IDs - only those created by Genesis, used to support restore and export.
  • Pack and style preferences - which channel pack, role pack, and decoration styles were last applied.
  • Backup snapshots - a full snapshot of your server's channels and roles taken automatically before each build. Stored for up to 30 days and then automatically deleted.
  • Command log - a record of which Genesis commands were used in your server and when.

What Genesis does not store

  • Message content of any kind
  • Direct messages
  • User profile data (usernames, avatars, bios)
  • Voice activity or call history
  • Any personal information about your server members

Data retention

All data Genesis stores is tied to your server. Removing Genesis from your server permanently and immediately deletes all associated data — backup snapshots, pack preferences, and the command log.

Backup snapshots are automatically deleted after 30 days even if Genesis remains in your server. Build history and command logs are retained for up to 90 days and then automatically purged.

You can also request deletion of your server's data at any time by reaching out in the Genesis Discord community.

Data sharing

Genesis data is never sold, rented, or shared with third parties. The data Genesis stores is used solely to operate the bot and its features within your server.
